Over the years we have been pleased to help many local practices and emergency services in Sussex and Surrey, looking after their patients - and clients - after normal practice hours (we are truly 24/7) and/or at the end-of-life when clients may need extra support, guidance and assistance, often at odd hours.

Here is what some of our partnership practices, practices owners and vet colleagues have said about our special service:

Greg Clark, MRCVS, Partner, New Priory

Vets/PETS Emergency Service, Brighton:

Description: priory-logo_180'Susan at Vets2Home has been providing a home visiting service on behalf of PETS emergency service for the last year, and it has been a great benefit to the night staff having this service to rely on when a home visit, whether for euthanasia or assessment and treatment, is required or requested by a client out of hours. Client feedback is always positive, and the night staff especially appreciate having Susan as an option when a home visit is requested during a busy shift.'

Peter Brown, MRCVS, Principal

Northdale Veterinary Practice, Worthing:

Description: northdale_180'We have been using the Vets2home service at our practice for about 18 months now. Although we already subscribed to an out-of-hours service, we felt that the "big hospital" approach did not always reflect our clients' needs whilst others positively sought an "at-home" service which an emergency centre struggled to provide. We decided to offer the two services in tandem via an automated telephone system which allows clients to select their preference, and I have been very pleased with the results. Susan works hard to integrate her service with that of our own practice and this has lead to improved continuity of care and increased client satisfaction.

Clients who have used the service have spoken warmly of Susan's professional and caring approach, and I have no hesitation in recommending her service to colleagues.'

Jose Monreal, MRCVS, Joint Venture Partner

Vets4Pets, Rustington and Chichester:

Description: vets4-logo_180'We are very happy with the service we get from Vets2Home, both during our opening hours and out of hours. During our normal opening hours it has removed the pressure of having to deal with those clients that request a home visit during the day to have their pets put to sleep at home, as we can offer them that service through Vets2Home.

During our out-of-hours time we can now offer our clients the possibility of either a visit to our dedicated out-of-hours provider or even a visit from one of the vets from Vets2Home who would have screened the call beforehand and offered advice to the owner. Those clients that prefer to have their pets put to sleep at home really appreciate this option.

We get an email from Vets2Home as soon as they have completed the home visit, even reminding us to send the client a sympathy card! That shows the level of care and concern they provide to our mutual clients and to the host practice.'

The prospect of a pet's death and the time leading up to this is a very stressful and emotional time for families. The anxiety that often comes with an in-clinic procedure can be overwhelming to many (the travel, the timing, grieving in public, etc.). The goal for our dedicated service, Vets2Home - Peaceful Pet Goodbyes, is to offer a more peaceful and comforting end-of-life experience and as such return a supported, comforted and content owner back to their normal, regular vet when they once again invite a new pet into their lives.

As practitioners ourselves, we fully appreciate and value the importance of the client/vet relationship and we fully support any desire and ability you have to provide this needed service yourself. If you cannot, we welcome your referrals and we will do our very best to support your clients through this difficult and challenging time - and be available to offer this dedicated service around the clock.

Rest assured, we always emphasise that they should continue to use your practice once our assistance is complete, or when adopting a new pet.

Because good client communication is critical, we will send out euthanasia or continued treatment notifications to your practice by email (or fax). When relevant, we ensure clients have one last contact with your practice if they choose to have their pet's ashes returned after an individual cremation. With these notifications, your staff can update records, and offer sympathy to the family via a sympathy card and at the final emotional contact when the ashes are handed over.

You may of course contact us at any time if you need more information regarding a case, or to order our client hand-outs.

I thank you for your time. My team and I look forward to helping you help your clients in any way we can.

Please do call or email me should you want to enquire further about becoming one of our VIP practices. We offer a dedicated and experienced home visit option to your clients, including our 24/7 after hours service and you can add this to your existing OOH portfolio and/or to your answer-phone message,
